Orth Kluth advised Safeline Verwaltungs GmbH on the sale of its Dortmund subsidiary Bühning & Joswig and the SAFELINE brand to the French conglomerate DESCOURS & CABAUD.
Founded more than 40 years ago as Bühning & Joswig, the company is now a leading contact for industry and trade in Germany under the SAFELINE brand as a specialist supplier of protective workwear and personal protective equipment, hand and power tools.
With the sale to the DESCOURS & CABAUD Group with its DEXIS brand, the label for the technical trade, SAFELINE will in future benefit from the worldwide distribution network of the DESCOURS & CABAUD Group in order to expand its reach.
With an annual turnover of approx. 4 billion euros, DESCOURS & CABAUD employs approx. 14,000 people and has 710 sales outlets worldwide, 655 of which are in Europe, serving more than 450,000 customers. With its DEXIS brand, DESCOURS & CABAUD is one of the most important technical dealers in Europe.
Orth Kluth provided comprehensive legal advice to SAFELINE on the transaction. The transaction has already been completed following merger control clearance in Germany and Austria.
