1. January 2025orka expands regulatory consulting in the transport sector

The commercial law firm orka has gained Dr. Johannes Bethge as a new Salary Partner for its Regulatory and Antitrust practice group. He will join orka’s Berlin office on January 1, 2025, strengthening the regulatory advice in the transport sector.
Dr. Johannes Bethge advises national and international companies as well as authorities in the transport sector with a focus on antitrust and railroad regulatory law as well as public law. He has been a lawyer since 2018 and previously worked at Dombert Rechtsanwälte and most recently at Hyazinth as Managing Associate in Berlin.
Mr. Bethge will expand the team of five with partner Dr. Anselm Grün, who heads the antitrust and regulatory practice groups.

Dr. Johannes Bethge studied law in Göttingen and Bologna. He completed his legal clerkship in Berlin and in Karlsruhe at the Federal Constitutional Court. He was a research assistant to Prof. Dr. Christoph Möllers at Humboldt University, where he also received his doctorate in 2019 after spending time abroad in Princeton and Florence (EUI).
With the arrival of Dr. Johannes Bethge, the law firm continues to consistently implement its growth plans in Berlin. The scope of advice in the transport sector has recently increased significantly, as there has been an increased demand for mandates in the public sector at the interface of regulation, public procurement law, commercial and corporate. In 2021, the firm received the JUVE Award in the category “Law Firm of the Year for Regulated Industries” in the transport/mobility sector.
