Margarete von Oppen specializes in energy law. She specializes in project developments of plants for the generation of electricity or heat from renewable energies as well as specific issues of the electricity market including the marketing of electricity with and without subsidies under the Renewable Energy Sources Act. Her clients include well-known project developers, ministries, associations, insurance companies and banks.

She has been a partner at orka since 2024. She previously worked for several nationwide commercial law firms.

Margarete von Oppen studied law in Würzburg, Heidelberg, Paris and Strasbourg and completed her legal clerkship in Berlin. She is a specialist lawyer for administrative law and has contributed to numerous publications.

Margarete von Oppen is also a member of the relevant energy industry associations, e.g. the German Solar Industry Association, the German Wind Energy Association and the Solar and Roof Technology Quality Association. She is also a member of the executive committee of the Berlin Energy Network and is a founding donor of the Environmental Energy Law Foundation (Würzburg).
