MPU GmbH (Metallbearbeitung-Präzisionsteile-Umformtechnik), which belongs to the Wickeder Group, sold its operating business to the Wachsmuth Group at the beginning of March 2021. With this acquisition, the Wachsmuth Group is expanding its production capacity and will become a supplier to the Wickeder Group with the acquired business.

Orth Kluth advised the Wickeder Group throughout the acquisition process. The transaction has already been closed.

The portfolio of the Wickeder Group, with twelve production sites in Europe, America and Asia and around 1,000 employees, includes the production of semi-finished metal products and classic metal processing for companies in the automotive supply, energy, consumer goods, electronics and electrical engineering, medical technology, marine and industrial sectors. The headquarters of the holding company, Wickeder Westfalenstahl GmbH, is in Wickede (Ruhr).

MPU GmbH, founded in Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde in 1999, had been part of the Wickeder Group for several years and accompanied the development of stamping and forming technology through to series production for the automotive and electrical industries. The company has state-of-the-art technology in the field of stamping and bending machines.

Founded in 1975, the company G. Wachsmuth & Co. Werkzeugbau GmbH was expanded to become the Wachsmuth Group in 2001 through the purchase of S. Bernhard GmbH Stanz- und Drahtbiegetechnik and offers services for all aspects of metal processing.
