The Orth Kluth commercial law firm has been able to attract lawyer Volker Herrmann as a new Salary Partner for its Contracts, Trade and Sales (Commercial) practice group. He was previously a Salary Partner at Taylor Wessing in Berlin.
Lawyer Volker Herrmann (43) is switching to Orth Kluth’s Berlin office as a Salary Partner as of 01/01. He enjoys many years of experience in advising national and international businesses on issues of contractual, trade and sales law. Mr Herrmann particularly supports industrial and trade businesses in legally organising delivery and sales relationships, purchasing and Quality Assurance, as well as regarding General Terms and Conditions of Business (T+Cs). Additionally, he provides consultancy at the interface to the compliance organisation, particularly regarding the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act.
A further aspect to his work is asserting and defending against claims. In so doing, he provides advice not only before German courts or extrajudicially, but also in national and international arbitration proceedings (ad hoc, DIS, ICC, etc.).
His clients include national and international businesses, including from the automotive, transport, manufacturing and entertainment sector. Moreover, Volker Herrmann advised public sector clients in the past in implementing complex infrastructure projects.
“We are very pleased to bring on board Volker Herrmann, an experienced commercial expert, with whom we can also expand our competencies when it comes to arbitration proceedings. He will be the first Salary Partner in our practice group in our Berlin office, thus helping to develop our presence in the capital city,” says Dr Frank Wältermann, Partner at the law firm’s location in Düsseldorf.
“Volker Herrmann is the ideal strengthening for our Commercial Team in Berlin; with him, we have been able to attract an experienced Salary Partner with a strong regional network and comprehensive expertise of the Berlin legal market and has now grown to a total of four professionals,” says Dr Anselm Grün, Partner at the Berlin office.
“I am delighted to be strengthening the Orth Kluth practice group for Contracts, Trade and Sales at the Berlin office and to be a part of this dynamic team. The law firm’s existing structures and full-service approach combined with specific industry expertise offer numerous connecting factors and opportunities for my clients,” says Volker Herrmann.
In recruiting Mr Volker Herrmann, the law firm is continuing to implement its sustained growth plans and strategically bolstering its team at the Berlin office with this new hire. In the process, he is joining Cordula Lehmann (Senior Associate) and Dominic Krohne (Business Development) with whom he already worked closely at Squire Patton Boggs in Berlin. Both of them also joined Orth Kluth within the previous six months. Moreover, the Berlin office was strengthened in October with Dr David Brosende as a Salary Partner in real estate law.
